Mark Begich is the mayor of Anchorage, the biggest city in Alaska. He is the first mayor of the city who was born there, and is the son of Alaska's third congressman, Nick Begich. Begich's parents first came to the state in 1957 as teachers. After serving as the superintendent of military schools at Fort Richardson, Nick was elected to the state senate and then the US House of Representatives. While campaigning for reelection in 1972, Nick's plane disappeared over the Gulf of Alaska. Mark was 10 years old.

Tom Wyka is running for Congress in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District. His calling into politics has evolved over the past several years with the gradual realization that too many of us have placed our democracy on auto-pilot, expecting someone else to pay attention to the issues. He is an activist and a DFA group leader in Morris County, where he is challenging a 14 year incumbent for the second time.

Democrat Don Calloway is running to represent the 71st District in the Missouri State House of Representatives. He was born and raised in St. Louis County. Both Calloway's father, Don Sr., who is a Vietnam vet, and his mother, Jonell, are career employees of the federal government, with 60 years of national service between them. At Alabama A&M University, Calloway was a scholar in political science and government, involved with his fraternity and varsity baseball, and was elected President of the Student Government Association.
