TELL CONGRESS THAT SCALPING SUCKS!
We, the undersigned fans, consumers and performers of live sporting, music, theater and other entertainment events are sick and tired of the best seats to popular events are siphoned off for sale at prices several times the face price printed on the ticket.
We are fed up that fans and consumers of average means are priced out of good seats and often cannot afford to attend live events,
We are outraged that virtually all of the larger venues and many smaller venues for live sports, music, theater and other entertainment were originally built, renovated and/or operate with various public subsidies paid for by taxpayers and consumers and yet most of the folks who pay cannot afford a ticket to get on the inside.
We believe that various state “experiments” with repealing their anti-scalping laws are a failure and that scalping has caused the face price of tickets to go up well above the consumer price index
These difficult economic times strain the ability of average Americans to find affordable entertainment activities and ticket scalping puts tickets to popular events out of reach for many.
As fans, consumers and performers of live sporting, music, theater and other entertainment in New York we call on President Obama and the United States Congress to adopt a tough anti-ticket scalping law.
